Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
I was contracted to help the folks at Naughty Dog optimize their game, I mastered many game optimization techniques and as a result learned much more about optimization than one would normally.
During my time there, but I had ran into a lull the drove me to ask one of the leads if I could work on something different.(I continued my duties as a generalist--ie optimization artist + collision).
A few days later I was asked if I could work on this portion of the game.
The Epilogue
Tasks
I was given a blob with two houses stuck on top surrounded my water on all sides and was asked by the Art Director (Erick Pangilinan) to work with the design team and the artists working on the houses to create this composition.
- modeling where needed
- texturing
- layout
- Integrate with Design team
I Learned a bunch of tricks along the way; by studying the approaches the other artists used on the other levels I was able to implement those techniques, and of course by asking many questions.
I'm so grateful for this task It was a great experience for me.
